FACTORS THAT CAUSE GUM DİSEASE?
The main cause of gum disease is dental plaque. Dental plaque is a transparent adhesive layer that forms above the tooth. There are between 200 to 500 million bacteria in plaque. But ofcourse there are plenty more factors that lead to periodontal disease.

- Drug use.
- Hormonal changes.
- Over biting of your teeth.
- Poorly made crowns and bridges.
Periodontal diseases are insidious and painless in their early stages which is why it is important undergo treatment early. Treatment of periodontal disease in its early stages usually consists of having plaque removed, flattening the surfaces of the roots and cleaning inbetween the gingival pockets. Once treatment is applied the bacteria and toxins that cause inflammation and infection are removed.
İn more advanced cases surgery may be required. The aim of the surgery is to reach deep into the gingival pockets and clean thoroughly creating a beter healing environment for the gums.
Avoiding periodontal disease is as simple as frequently brushing your teeth and using dental floss in intervals as to your dentists recommendation. The fact that periodontal disease can go unnoticed should be kept in mind.
